Could apple break your phone ? It is wrong to force apple to do something that could potentially lower their businesses quality and price. The FBI is looking to hack a man's phone because of suspicions. “ Basic American rights were at stake “ Consider what the FBI asked Apple to do. The FBI did not ask Apple to turn over information it already had. This was nothing like a search warrant. Apple never had the information the FBI was seeking. Instead, the FBI wanted Apple to write new software to unlock Syed Farook's iPhone. Apple phones have features that protect the privacy of people's information. The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution guarantees Americans this right to privacy. The FBI should not be able to hack your iphone. The software that they are asking for apple doesnt even have. The FBI thought Farook's phone might have important information about the shooting. However, because of the privacy features of the iPhone, the FBI could not search through the phone without the password. The FBI asked Apple to create software to unlock the phone and allow their agents to search through it. When Apple refused, the FBI sought to force the company to help by taking it to court. They can not just search one person if they don't search everyone and anyone could be a murder, so they have no reason to try. Yes, the Fourth Amendment also says the government has a right to search personal property. However, the government can only do this with a search warrant and a very good reason to do so. The Fourth Amendment does not say that anyone else can be forced to aid the government in its searches. We have rights to keep people in line and the Government is breaking those rights. If it is not wrong to break that right then why is it still wrong to break any other amendment? This is a violation to human rights. This case was about more than the threat of a secret way to obtain the information in our phones. The real danger we face is a secret attack on our rights. We have rights to keep people in line and the Government is breaking those rights. If it is not wrong to break that right then why is it still wrong to break any other amendment? Yes, the Fourth Amendment also says the government has a right to search personal property. However, the government can only do this with a search warrant and a very good reason to do so. The Fourth Amendment does not say that anyone else can be forced to aid the government in its searches. How can they just ask for something they don’t have? Apple doesn’t even have the software to do what they are asking for. They had no right to be the bully in this situation. This problem will most likely rise again. The situation is unfair and in violation of certain rights. The FBI was asking for something they can’t have, but we're determined to find. The FBI wanted that kind of extra power over Apple. That is a problem. This is not a war time. Congress never gave the FBI that kind of power. Apple's fight with the FBI was about more than one phone.
